As stakeholders are inseparable from a company's operations, stakeholders' demands represent the key to a company's sustainability and success. By communicating with stakeholders and responding to topics of concern to them, we continue to review and improve the effectiveness of our implementation of sustainable development. We have identified six categories of stakeholders, including shareholders, customers and trading partners, employees and labor union, suppliers and contractors, community and local groups, and central and local governments. Our channels of communication with stakeholders and the topics of concern to them are listed in the following table:

  • In line with customer demands, commissioned third-party inspections of hazardous substances six times, including inspections of refined naphthalene and coke in February and inspections of benzene and medium temperature pitch in July
  • Arranged a video conference with customers and end-users in February and April to discuss the product of reprocessing and purification of naphthalene, and assisted in downstream technical communication.
  • The business unit visits customers regularly or irregularly depending on the business execution needs to facilitate smooth business execution and understanding of customer status.
  • Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic this year, overseas customers and suppliers were prevented from visiting us. In this regard, we communicated with our naphthalene customers by video instead to discuss about the shipping schedule for refined coal tar and naphthalene export.
  • Assisted customers to analyze samples before the experimental equipment was imported into the factory. In February, we assisted our benzene customer to deliver raw materials during the week due to the high stock of raw materials when the import ship arrived. In early June, we assisted our benzene customer to supply materials at the beginning of June due to the shortage of materials. In July, we assisted our special pitch customer to change some shipments to barrel supply according to their export market demand.

  • Carried out negotiations with suppliers and contractors based on the minimum wage stipulated in the Labor Standards Act and adjustments to CSC's contract service prices, and signed a new contract with them in December.

  • Light oil and benzene products are toxic and chemical substances. Transportation companies carrying these products and raw materials should join the joint defense organization system and arrange joint defense fire drills every year to support each other in case of emergency.
